Information on Ceremonies
Some Indulgence:
This is our own wedding in Vanuatu that we
orchestrated as a traditional Vanuatu Island Wedding.
Wedding Ceremonies
The decision to make a lifetime commitment to each other is one of the biggest decisions a couple will face together. You have decided to make a deeper level of commitment to each other and want to share that commitment through a Wedding Ceremony with your family and friends.
We are happy to become part of Your Special Day and plan, develop and deliver a ceremony especially for you ………. as long as it complies with the legal requirements of the Marriage Act of 1961.
We can discuss many options on wedding themes, inclusion of family and friends, inclusion of cultural rituals and customs.
Some of our recommended Symbolic Rituals include the Rose Ceremony, the Padlock Ceremony and the Time Capsule.
Reaffirmation Ceremonies ( Renewal of Vows )
A Renewal of Vows ceremony allows you to renew your original marriage vows and commitment to each other.
You may want to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, have been through a difficult phase in your lives and want to commit to moving forward together or want to celebrate a wedding that was conducted elsewhere and now want to relive that experience with family and friends.
Commitment and Partnership Ceremonies
You may not wish to have a registered marriage ceremony, however, would like to publicly express your love and commitment to each other.
A Commitment Ceremony is very similar to a Wedding Ceremony, however, is not recognised as a legal marriage.
In Australia, same sex marriages are not recognised in law.
A Commitment or Partnership Ceremony is where you can show your commitment to each other as in any other Wedding Ceremony.
Naming Ceremonies
A Naming Ceremony is where the parents choose to formally introduce their child to their family and circle of friends, and announce the chosen names.
Some parents that come from different faiths prefer their child to have the option to choose their own faith or religion when they are old enough to understand the commitment to that faith.
Some children are named shortly after birth, however, the first birthday is the most popular time. The ceremony is shared with family and friends at a reasonably informal yet important and delightful occasion and should involve grand parents and close friends of the family.
